OUR COOKIE DREAMBOX

OUR COOKIE DREAMBOX

We’ve all had a little extra time on our hands lately and we’ve seen a lot of decorators using the time to get organized! We love seeing new ideas and it has definitely helped us create our own system. We thought it would be fun to share some details about how we organize our cookie work space to help inspire you!

Years ago when we first started decorating, we had a couple of plastic cutters, a handful of decorating tips, and a few squeeze bottles. All of this fit nicely in a cute little tackle box that we stored away in the top of a closet. Some how, that tackle box became a few storage containers, which quickly became a LOT of storage containers. We’re really not quite sure how or when it happened but those containers kept multiplying until they had filled an entire room. Towers of buckets that we had to rifle through and carry upstairs each and every time we had cookies to decorate.

Moving the mess upstairs to the kitchen made it even worse. The buckets opened up and in a matter of minutes, they spewed their contents all over every horizontal surface in the kitchen. As most of you may know, cookie decorating isn’t a “quick” thing. The project that started right after breakfast was usually still in full production at dinner time and even on late into the night. Cooking dinner wasn’t even an option. No one could find the stove… or the table. They were buried under trays of drying cookies and a mess that easily tops anything we’ve EVER seen our kids make.

Sorry family, it’s pizza and picnic on the lawn… again! Sound familiar???

We’re not proud of this “phase” but this is a safe place to share, right? Sadly, it became such a frequent occurrence, on first sight of the kitchen, our husbands knew to place the pizza order without even being asked. We knew we had a little problem, but in a house without a second kitchen or a separate space to set up shop, we couldn’t see an easy solution UNTIL….

Along came this wonderful thing called a DreamBox from Create Room. This felt like fairy godmother magic! The contents from ALL of those storage containers fit inside this magical foldaway cookie kitchen on wheels. It’s 85,000 cubic inches of storage space, friends! Our supplies not only fit inside but everything was organized and had it’s own space

AND WE HAD ROOM TO SPARE!

Cookie decorating was suddenly so much easier because supplies were easy to find and everything was within reach. The children (and husbands) rejoiced and lived happily ever after because they finally had the kitchen back - which also meant NO MORE PIZZA!

Between cookie projects, the cupboard doors close and this stylish cabinet disguises our cookie disaster and displays itself as a beautiful piece of furniture.

Recently, Create Room has added new accessories and additional pieces of foldaway furniture to their collection. One of these pieces is the DreamCart. It’s a popup mobile work station that tripled our counter space. The center tower of the cart also has some additional storage space. With two of us working together all the time, this cart allowed us the room we needed to spread out. The DreamCart can connect with the DreamBox to create one larger workspace or it can be used separately depending on your individual preferences.

DreamCart

  • The (2 leaf) DreamCart is 69.5” x 28.5” when it’s open.

  • The DreamBox foldaway table is 34.75” x 35.5”

That equals

105 GLORIOUS inches

of running table space when these two pieces are used together.
